Taylor County Middle School Athlete/Parent Contract
T.C.M.S. provides an opportunity to participate in many character enhancing athletic programs. It is a privilege and not a right. Since the athlete represents the school and the community and because proper physical and mental conditioning is highly important to the performance of the individual and the team, the following rules and procedures are in effect for your son and daughter.

Miscellaneous
Repeated detentions from the Respect and Responsibility Program, in school, and out of school suspensions may result in a level I offense.
Cumulative Penalty: Violation of any of the above outlined policies may result in penalties being enforced in another sport’s season. Infractions are cumulative for the entire middle school participation of each student.
It is the responsibility of the athlete, athlete’s parent/guardian, school activity sponsor and/or law enforcement officials to report violations outside the school environment to the school administration and athletic director. Following an investigation into the matter, whereby the student is given due process, the penalty phase of the policies can be administered. NOTE: T.C.M.S. will not act on any incident that is based on hearsay, secondhand accounts or correspondence received anonymously.
Also: The athletic department will support and cooperate with the Parent/guardian in any behavioral plan that the parent/guardian wishes to implement that is in addition to the above outlined penalties and procedures.
These consequences are separate from additional disciplinary action that results from violating school rules.
