Kasson Elementary/Middle School Philosophy and Mission Statement
The
staff of Kasson Elementary/Middle School believes that its philosophy should
coordinate with the goals and objectives of the county school system as
determined by the Barbour County Board of Education.
The
staff, realizing the individual differences, believes that students should have
an orderly, safe and stimulating educational environment and that students are
best served by providing them the opportunity to master the so called “basics”
and the chance to expand in each of these areas to the fullest extent of one’s
capabilities.
The staff believes that all students
can learn and therefore present each with a challenge to do their best. We will provide each with the opportunity to
acquire the skills, knowledge, and understandings necessary to grow from
children to responsible young adults during their years at Kasson.
In these times of greater public
concern the staff also feels that parental involvement in the total education
process is the key to the success of our school. Along with this involvement we hope to maintain strong lines of
communication with the general public, therefore, obtaining public acceptance
and support for our school and the entire system.
The mission of Kasson
Elementary/Middle School is to provide an environment in which each student is
challenged to achieve his/her best in the areas of academics, social
development, and personal growth. The
school in partnership with parents and the community will strive to meet the
needs of all students with programs consisting of the highest standards of
educational excellence in the least restricted environment. These programs will include an emphasis on
language arts and reading, writing skills and math, utilization of more
advanced computer technology, and expansion of peer mediation/conflict
resolution training to include all students.
