Welcome to Mr. Rick Evans Web Page
(Music Teacher)
Born and raised in Elkins, WV. I attended schools in Elkins and started my instrumental instrunction under Jack Basil at Central Elementary School. While at EHS, which was a 3 year high school (grades 10-12), I made All State Band all 3 years and was awarded Board of Governor's Scholarship in music to attend WVU. While at WVU I played flute in the WVU Community Orchestra and the Wind Symphony. Upon graduation, I taught 2 years in Jefferson County before returning to WVU for graduate work. I was employed in Randolph County in 1976 where I have taught for 27 years starting as an elementary instrumental instructor before changing to General Music and Choir.
Over the years I have remained an active musician playing flute for banquets, weddings and concerts. I also have sung bass in local community choirs and the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church Choir. I frequently attended concerts and musicals in Pittsburgh, Morgantown and Washington.
I am secretary for Historic Beverly Preservation and the Beverly landmarks Commission. Other than that, I am not one who joins social or professonal organizations.
