Meet the Teacher

Objective:
To provide and assist with the enhancement of the K-4 curriculum in the areas of Library, Media, and Technology to assure a positive impact on student achievement.

Interesting Facts:
Hello!  My name is Ms. Rachel Haught.  I am the School Library Media Specialist at Doddridge County Elementary (DCES).  I moved to this county when the new elementary school opened in 2002.  I  grew up in a small town near Fairmont, WV.  I  am the youngest of four.  I have a sister and two brothers all of whom I am very close.  Ironically enough  my childhood dream was to move out of West Virginia but my siblings followed my dreams because I fell in love with a little community in Doddridge County.  I love teaching students that are just entering the realm of books. To see a child's eyes sparkle as he or she enters the world of reading is why I became a teacher.  I get rewarded daily when I see a child's nose buried in a book that they got from the library.   I spend most of my extra time reading books, of course.  I really enjoy Dean Koontz, James Patterson, and Anne Rice.

Degree and Certification:
I have a
B.A. in Secondary Education; Library Science K-12/ English Language Arts 5-12. My certification is English: 5 - 12; Library Media Science: West Virginia State Board of Education certified K- 12. Masters in Integrating Technology in the Classroom 3-12.
