Kindergarten at Belington
Elementary is a 5 day, all-day program. Teachers make home-visits in the fall and invite the parents and children to an orientation in the classroom. We integrate whole language into our thematic units, but place a strong emphasis on phonics instruction. Our hand-made alphabet puppets add personality and fun to the study of each letter.
Computers in our classroom allow for more individual usage time.
Some special annual events include our Mother Goose theme, culminating in a dress-up day, Christmas Craft Day with parents, Pumpkin Science culminating in a big trip to a pumpkin farm, and a visit to a wildlife center.
