Fourth Grade

The 4th grade goes to the state capitol in Charleston, West Virginia. We do this as a culminating activity for West Virginia studies. We attend the West Virginia Symphony,  tour the state capitol, Governor's Mansion, and tour the Cultural Arts Museum.

Fourth graders have been doing their part to help the environment. In conjunction with Grandparent's Day, the students gave a play entitled "Give a Hoot-Don't Pollute!" Students have been learning all about recycling.

Students examined why recycling was needed and learned all about the 3 R's...reduce, reuse, and recycle. With the help of parents, students made several projects out of recycled goods. For example, toucan birds made out of soda cans and piggy banks out of food cans.

All fourth graders would like to encourage you to do your part to recycle. Remember, like Woody Owl said in our play..."Give a Hoot-Don't Pollute!"
