The Barbour County Board of Education met in special session at 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at the Board of Education Office, 105 South Railroad Street, Philippi, West Virginia.
Pat Jones, President, presided; Brian Kisamore, Greg Nestor and Jerry Phillips, Members, and Deede Lundeen, Secretary, were present. Brad Robinson, Jr., Member was absent. Also in attendance were: Jeff Kittle, parents and students.
Mr. Jones called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. and led the pledge to the flag.
A student hearing was conducted in closed session from 6:05 p.m. to 6:42 p.m. (EXP 8-08).
After
conducting the hearing, the Board deliberated in executive session from 6:43
p.m. to 6:56 p.m.
A motion was made by Mr. Nestor, seconded by Mr. Phillips
and passed four (4) to zero (0) to uphold the Superintendent’s recommendation
to expel the student from Philip Barbour High School for the remainder of the
2007-2008 school year and assign the student to the
Alternative Learning Center.
A motion was made by Mr. Kisamore to adjourn into executive session (§6-9A-4 (9) at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Legal/Personnel issues. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nestor and passed four (4) to zero (0).
A motion was made by Mr. Phillips, seconded
by Mr. Kisamore and passed four (4) to zero (0) to return to open session.
A motion was made by Mr. Kisamore, seconded by Mr. Nestor and passed four (4) to zero (0) to adjourn.
The meeting was duly adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
