The Barbour County Board of Education met in special session at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Board of Education Office, 105 South Railroad Street, Philippi, West Virginia.
Pat Jones, President, presided; Brian Kisamore, Greg Nestor, Jerry Phillips and Brad Robinson, Jr., Members, and Deede Lundeen, Secretary, were present. Also in attendance were: Jeff Kittle, parents and student.
Mr. Jones called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m. and led the pledge to the flag.
A motion was made by Mr. Nestor to adjourn into executive session (§6-9A-4 (9) at 4:47 p.m. to conduct a student hearing (EXP 03-08). The motion was seconded by Mr. Kisamore and passed five (5) to zero (0).
A motion was made by Mr. Robinson, seconded by Mr. Phillips
and passed five (5) to zero (0) to return to regular session at 5:15 p.m.
At the conclusion of the student hearing a motion was made by Mr.
Kisamore, seconded by Mr. Robinson and passed five (5) to zero (0) to uphold
the Superintendent’s recommendation to expel the student from Philippi Middle
School for the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year the student will be
provided homebound educational services.
A motion was made by Mr. Phillips, seconded by Mr. Robinson and passed five (5) to zero (0) to adjourn.
The meeting was duly adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
