The Barbour County Board of Education met in regular session at 6:40 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007, at the Board of Education Office, Philippi, West Virginia.
Patrick Jones, President, presided; Brian Kisamore, Jerry Phillips, Greg Nestor and Brad Robinson, Jr., Members, and Deede Lundeen, Secretary, were present. Also in attendance were: James Poling, Susan DeLong, Carl Bolton, Ira Mayle, Marjorie George, David Strait, Melissa Kennedy, Tammy Martin, Karen Finamore, Glenn Sweet, Jeff Kittle, Jack Reger, Elaine Benson, Karen Boone, and Whitni Kines.
Mr. Jones called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Mr. Nestor led the pledge to the flag.
A motion was made by Mr. Kisamore, seconded by Mr. Nestor and passed five (5) to zero (0) to accept the addendum.
The Board recognized Kasson School for attaining exemplary status for 2007. Kasson School will be honored by the Board of Education on January 28, 2008 at Kasson School.
A work session was held concerning AYP, Energy Ed
and Safe Schools Grant.
The following delegation representatives addressed the Board.
Shawn Summerfield concerning three year old program at CTE.
Mr. Nestor made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 10, 2007 meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr. Phillips and passed five (5) to zero (0).
1. Recommendation: In compliance with Attendance Policy J-3,
approve requests for out-of-zone attendance for school year 2007-2008
contingent upon compliance with pupil-teacher ratio.
