The Barbour County Board of Education met in regular session at 6:40 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2007, at Philip Barbour High School, Philippi, West Virginia.
Patrick Jones, President, presided; Brian Kisamore, Jerry Phillips, Greg Nestor and Brad Robinson, Jr., Members, and Deede Lundeen, Secretary, were present. Also in attendance were: Karen Boone, Whitni Kines, Elaine Benson, Flo Wilkins, Susan Delong, Jack Reger, Jeff Kittle, Glenn Sweet, Marjorie George, Ira Mayle, James Poling, Ed Lanham, David Taylor, Crystal Bennett-Ware, Ronald Jones, Gary Marsh, and David Robinson.
Mr. Jones called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. The pledge to the flag was done.
A motion was made by Mr. Kisamore at 5:36 p.m., seconded by Mr. Robinson and passed four (4) to zero (0) to accept the addendum. (Mr. Nestor was not here)
A work session was held from 5:36-6:40 p.m. concerning
educational email training.
At 6:40 p.m. Mr. Nestor made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 20, 2007 meeting.
1. Recommendation: In compliance with Attendance Policy J-3,
approve requests for out-of-zone attendance for school year 2007-2008
contingent upon compliance with pupil-teacher ratio.

4. Recommendation: Approve the final total of the August 28,
2007 net payroll and related taxes and withholdings in the amount of $90,459.41.
5. Recommendation: Approve payment of bills for the period of
August 21, 2007 through September 10, 2007 at a total expenditure of $237,115.42.
6. Recommendation: Authorize the September 10, 2007 payroll for
all regular extended and special programs payroll and federal withholdings not
to exceed the amount of $770,000.00 to be released in accordance with Federal
Law.
7. Recommendation: Authorize the payment of utility bills due
before next board meeting not to exceed $12,000.00.
8. Recommendation: Approve final total of utility bills in the
amount of $3,061.82.
9. Recommendation: Approve/Confirm fund raising activity requests as submitted (all candy sales will be done outside school hours).
