1.         Recommendation:   Approve budget adjustments. – Enclosure B

 

2.         Recommendation:  Approve the final total of the October 15, 2007 net payroll and related taxes and withholdings in the amount of $741.891.19 – Enclosure C

 

3.         Recommendation:  Approve payment of bills for the period of October 4, 2007 through October 17, 2007 at a total expenditure of $177,047.33. - Enclosure D

 

4.         Recommendation:  Authorize the October 28, 2007 payroll for all regular extended and special programs payroll and federal withholdings not to exceed the amount of $770,000.00 to be released in accordance with Federal Law.  (Refer to Enclosure D)

 

5.         Recommendation:  Authorize the payment of utility bills due before next board meeting not to exceed $12,000.00. (Refer to Enclosure D)

 

6.         Recommendation:  Approve final total of utility bills in the amount of $529.84. – Enclosure E

 

7.         Recommendation:  Approve/Confirm fund raising activity requests as submitted (all candy sales will be done outside school hours) – Enclosure F

Belington Middle on October 21, 2007 – requested by Cindi Short for Birthday party; on October 28, 2007 – requested by Charles Everson for Birthday party; on October 30, 2007 – requested by Lisa Lepsch for Safe Schools – NIMS Training.

            Community for Hayride on October 30, 2007; (School) to Alderson-Broaddus College reward for exemplary school status.

Philippi Middle School (8th Grade) to West Virginia University for Gear-Up college visitation.

11.       Recommendation:  Approve building/ground modifications. – Enclosure J

 

Belington Elementary – paint road, install speed bumps and signage for vehicular traffic.

 

Personnel –

 

12.       Recommendation:  Approve employment of Clyde Barger as Mechanic Trainer for the 2007-2008 school year.  Employment is contingent upon clearance of criminal convictions.

 

13.       Recommendation:  Approve employment of the following personnel for the 2007/2008 school year. Employment is contingent upon proper certification and clearance of criminal convictions as defined in WV Codes §18-5-15c(d) and §15-2-24(d). – Enclosure K

 

Kimberly Delauder – Volunteer Cheerleading Coach, Philippi Middle School

Ashleigh Tenney – Long Term Substitute Preschool Special Needs Teacher (1/2 time) (this position will terminate at the end of 2007-2008 school year or until qualified teacher is hired)
