                        The Barbour County Board of Education will meet on Monday, June 11, 2007, at the Board of Education Office, 105 South Railroad Street, Philippi, West Virginia.  The Board will honor retirees at 5:30 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 6:30.

Superintendent’s Recommendations –

Attendance –

1.         Recommendation:  In compliance with Attendance Policy J-3, approve requests for out-of-zone attendance for school year 2007-2008 contingent upon compliance with pupil-teacher ratio – Enclosure #2

2.         Recommendation:  In compliance with Attendance Policy J-3, approve requests for out-of-county attendance for school year 2007-2008 - Enclosure #3

Business & Finance -

3.         Recommendation:  Approve budget adjustments – Enclosure #4

4.         Recommendation:  Approve payment of bills for the period of May 30, 2007 through June 11, 2007 at a total expenditure of $198,998.24 -Enclosure #5

5.         Recommendation:  Approve the release of GEAR-UP summer enrichment field trip expenses not to exceed  $7,800.00.    (Refer to enclosure #5.)

6.         Recommendation:  Approve the final total of the May 28, 2007 net payroll and related taxes and withholdings in the amount of $767,697.67– Enclosure #6

7.         Recommendation:  Approve utilities in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00.

8.         Recommendation:  Name the BC Bank in Philippi, West Virginia as the demand depository and for investment of current expense monies for the 2007- 2008 school year – Enclosure #7

9.         Recommendation:  Continue the use of Consolidated Fund of the West Virginia State Treasury as an optional depository for the investment of current expense monies for the 2007-2008 school year.  (Refer to enclosure #7.)

10.       Recommendation:  In compliance with the lease purchase agreement for the completion of the HVAC system at Philip Barbour High School, authorize the wire transfer for funds in the amount of $56,740.00 to Bank of America as the annual lease payment – Enclosure #8

11.       Recommendation:  Approve/Confirm fund raising activity requests as   submitted (all candy sales will be done outside school hours) – Enclosure #9

            Mt. Vernon Elementary School (PTO) – projected revenue $200.00

12.       Recommendation:  Approve /Confirm use of buildings and/or grounds –Enclosure #10

            Philip Barbour High School on August 25, 2007 – requested by Gene Matlick for BC American Youth Football
